Prairie Land Cooperative was first formed in 1994 when Farmers Cooperative Company of Hubbard-Garden City merged with Lawn Hill Cooperative, Lawn Hill-Union. Since then PLC has merged with Farmers Cooperative Elevator Company of Owasa(July 1996), Alden Cooperative(September 1997), and Ellsworth-Williams Coop(March 1998). PLC aquired Faulkner Ag Center in September 2006 and Greenbelt Elevator (Cleves, Austinville, Geneva, and Steamboat Rock) in September 2008. PLC has also aquired Cenex LP of Marshalltown, Cenex LP of Allison, McGuire Supply of Iowa Falls, Hearn Propane of Dumont, and Gruenberg Oil of Ackley.

PLC has been interested in finding a history of the original companies that make up the current Prairie Land Cooperative family. We have not found history on all of the companies and would appreciate it if anyone had any information that we could scan into the website.
